WP9: Mediation in practice
We examine mediation processes in the coffee chain through case studies, mapping the interaction between European and local actors and analysing the impact on small producers and communities.
Core activities:
- Focus on EU Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free products (EUDR)
- Mapping of intermediaries operating in the coffee sector in Uganda
- Mapping relationships between different Ugandan and European intermediaries
- Specific focus on power relations when translating due diligence rules into practice
